March 22, 2005

Shallow water catches light to make a rhythm with shadow over the soil

Are green algae holding life?
White bubbles are swinging softly along
The shallow running water

Out of the stubble sweet calamus grows
Absorbing water into green sprouts
In the field of March

Magnolia is getting out
Of the sleep in the coldest winter
Let me listen to the tale of your dreams again

Bright yellow of crocus
Clear against the earth
I fold my arms
As if it's my achievement

March 15, 2005

Through early cherry blossoms
Light is falling
Something hard is melting
In the mild bright shower

I feel sad to find small specks
On flower petals
It's vicious of me!

If I found it in the field
I would be amazed with joy
In a corner of a garden
A butterbur sprout is painfully glowing

Fukinotou: Petasites japonicus

March 1, 2005

None can call itthe desolate
If steel towers and tanks
Invade the landscape
It's Kanto Plain

The sky is wide open
In the bleak field named
The Park for me in Tokyo
